Muddy Feet

(Rest assured, the sessions are well away from cottages and facilities used by guests!)

We are proud to have supported the Forest School initiative for many years and had regular school visits to the farm before budget cuts. We now have Muddy Feet who operate over school holidays at the farm, if you’re bringing kids with you to stay with us do check out their website to book your child in for a session.

MUDDY FEET® Inspires, educates, and engages through a connection with nature.

MUDDY FEET® Brings together behaviourial science, educational pedagogy, and therapeutic approaches to provide a range of nature-based consultancy services. Services include public events, training, and nature-based interventions. They have a team of highly trained nature-based experts including facilitators and trainers. More about Forest School –

Forest School uses the woods and forests as a means to build personal confidence and self esteem in children and young people. It is a specialised learning approach that sits within and compliments the wider context of outdoor and woodland education. Oxfordshire has been at the forefront of Forest School in the UK and is one of the first counties to train and resource Forest School Leaders. Since 1995 Oxfordshire Forest School Service has had a team of practitioners whose role is to encourage teachers, nursery staff and youth workers to embrace this exciting approach to learning in challenging natural woodland environments.

Over 300 places such as nurseries and schools in Oxfordshire have regular Forest School embedded in their provision for families, children and young people and the number is rapidly growing. The sessions are not activity based but instead are led by the interests of the learners. Children, young people and families may enjoy such experiences as building dens, playing hide and seek, telling stories, cooking over small fires, climbing trees, hunting for mini beasts, making mud pies
