Cleanliness

We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of the cottages. Painstakingly and conscientiously cleaned to Nena’s exacting standards using a comprehensive check list and completed by our dedicated long term staff you can rest assured that you will be able to relax from the moment you step in the door.

We believe in paying attention to detail and hope you will find this evident throughout your stay. If you find anything not to the high standards you’d expect please let us know straight away.

We use environmentally friendly products and avoid the use of highly perfumed cleaners or sprays.

Complimentary Cake

The complimentary cake you find on your arrival has been made on the farm by Cotswold Baking.

Paul uses as much local produce as possible from the flour to the local dairy. Heath Farm walnuts and hazelnuts are used in some of Paul’s cakes.

Free Firewood

Curl up on the sofa and relax in warmth from your fireplace. Each cottage’s fireplace has its own unique style and character. Perfect for cold evenings and winter nights.

We supply guests with unlimited firewood which is cut and dried on the farm.

You’re also welcome to use the firewood in the fire pit or Chiminea in the courtyard for those long summer nights.

Free Spring Water

We have our own supply of lovely, pure spring water. Our Spring water is regularly tested and is UV treated and filtered so there are no chemicals involved and is perfectly safe to drink. Crisp and refreshing, no need to buy bottled water!

The Craftsmanship

One of the priorities in the design and conversion of these old farm buildings was to use natural, durable materials and employ traditional craftsmanship.
The interiors feature furniture and fittings specially designed and built on site by expert joiners using a wealth of natural materials including many English hardwoods, much of it from the farm’s own trees. A local blacksmith was commissioned to create imaginative ironwork to enhance many of the doors, windows and the open fireplaces. Floors are slate, terracotta or hardwood Elm and soft furnishings are in natural materials.

Heath Farm offers guests the ultimate in comfort and quality and a chance to enjoy the high standards of craftsmanship which is the hallmark of this idyllic retreat.

To this end we commissioned a local blacksmith to make iron ware for the doors and windows and set up a small joinery to produce the hardwood furniture and fittings for the cottages which continues today making bespoke furniture for the local market and also helps in maintaining and upgrading the holiday cottages. Two local builders worked with us for 3-4 years and their skilled stonemasonry is evident. We also set challenges with our particular designs with each cottage having its own character and specifically designed interiors.

We wanted to create a beautiful environment for ourselves as well as for our guests and enjoyed creating the courtyard that we all share. It is lovely that so many of our guests appreciate the attention to detail and quality of workmanship and that they tell us how relaxed they feel here.

Pet Free

I’m afraid we do not accept pets at Heath Farm. The main reason is to due to our exacting cleanliness standards to help allergy sufferers.  We do also have our own dog and farm animals that can be affected by pets.
