Feel free to explore everything we have to offer and to feel at home. Please note that the driveway and farm buildings are in constant use and care should be taken with youngsters in these areas.

The Courtyard & Garden

The courtyard with its gracious terraces, intimate herb borders and magnificent views is generously provided with seating areas where guests can relax in peace and tranquillity.  Enjoy your morning tea, glass of wine in the evening or simply relax with a book to the sound of running water and birdsong.  Feel free to pick fresh herbs straight out of the borders to enhance your cooking.  For those who enjoy cooking alfresco we provide barbecues.  The gardens that surround the courtyard and reception are also ideal places to enjoy the views and soak up the atmosphere.

The courtyard and garden is a communal space - please be considerate to other guests when enjoying it.

The Woodland

The vast majority of the farm is set aside for woodland which is regularly maintained.  Wander down woodland paths and enjoy noticing the signs of wildlife in this peaceful & tranquil setting.

Produce table

When we have surplus crops guests are welcome to share, you’ll find this on the produce table which is located on the left at the entrance to the courtyard.

Vegetable garden

The family are keen gardeners who have a large garden which produces an abundance of fruit and vegetables such as strawberries, raspberries, potatoes, leeks, carrots, artichokes, cabbage, lettuce, peas. and beans.  This is also where flowers are grown to pick for our guests.  Inside the poly tunnel we grow grapes, tomatoes, padron peppers, cucumbers and chillies.

The Lake

Tapping into natural springs in the hillside the lake encourages wildlife from herons, geese and ducks to the occasional kingfisher. Enjoy the views of the cottages reflected in the water as part of your walk or whilst stopping for a picnic.  Suitable for swimming (over 18’s only), fishing, boating and paddle boarding.  Feel free to feed the Rainbow Trout or you can fish for them.  Guests are entitled to catch & eat up to two Trout per stay.  Fishing rods are located in the Bike Shed, next to the Games Room.

The Chicken Run

Our chickens roam free in a large enclosure in the woodlands opposite the vegetable garden.  Fed on a well-balanced diet of feed and food leftovers from our house, they produce lovely golden yoked eggs far superior to your standard “free range”.  We sometimes have spare eggs which you are more than welcome to.

The Animal Fields

We have a goats and chickens plus Abi & Violet's dog Marmite.  The farm animals will often be seen from your cottage window grazing and lazing in the field below the cottages.
