There’s an abundance of great pubs to eat and drink at. As the criteria for a good pub is very much a matter of personal taste we’re a bit reluctant to make firm recommendations, but the pubs listed below have all been spoken well of by our guests and friends (and we may well have been there too!). We’ve listed them in terms of proximity to us. All Pubs listed serve food.

Antony Griffith Harris, a successful London restauranteur of 30 years takes helm of this new venture along with his partner with Stacey C. Elder. Their aim is to bring tantalizing food to this beautiful part of the Cotswolds.
Reunited with Head Chef, Nicholas Andersona, a two time Michelin Star winner.
The menu will revolve around the best seasonal produce, locally sourced from nearby farmers with occasional indulgences as well as unashamedly virtuous everyday fare.

Julie and Hendrik took over this pub in August 2022 (previously successfully running 2 AA rosette and Michelin Guide pub - The White Horse in Kings Sutton for 8 years). Since then they've established Kitchen Garden, just outside the pub, where they grow vegetables and serve it on their menu. They strive to be as sustainable as possible in all that they do. From the food they grow in their Kitchen Garden or to the local farmers, rearers and artisan producers they work with. They want to reduce food miles and focus on life balance. They believe it is our responsibility to respect our environment and represent our areas rich food heritage and culture. Offering a product that is super seasonal, using as much of the produce as they can exactly when it is harvested and using traditional methods to preserve the rest. They believe the future lies in the past, in the knowledge and understanding of how to work with nature.
Bookings are not essential, only recommended at the weekends. Everyone is welcome whether it’s a full formal dinner, quick lunch or just a drink.

The Bar at the George is traditionally English and frequented by locals and visitors. It's a place where farmers meet and walkers recover. You will meet all types here.
