Rye Hill Golf Club
Rye Hill Golf Club is set in 200 acres of rolling Oxfordshire countryside, on the edge of the Cotswolds. Benefitting from a well drained course that has parkland and heathland combined. Its generous fairways, undulating greens, beautiful lakes with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside makes it a great place to play.
The Championship Course is an 18-hole par 72 and was once a Euro-Pro Tour venue. Featuring challenging holes, generous fairways and boasting large true greens, Rye Hill offers a good test for all abilities. It has stood the test of time due to it’s magnificent beauty and extensive maintenance and upkeep by staff.
With it’s championship course, academy, indoor practice area and a well stocked Pro Shop it’s a great play to play. The versatile clubhouse caters for a thriving membership, societies, corporate and private guests. It is home to a daily bistro menu plus pop up Malaysian and Japanese dining. It’s also a great place to grab a breakfast!
Tadmarton Heath Golf Club
Established in 1922, “Taddy” is an delightful old-school heath land course. Golf here can be an absolute joy. With it’s hard and fast links-style fairways it’s ideal in all seasons. There’s an abundance of gorse, first class greens, a huge variety of competitions and a vibrant and friendly atmosphere in the bar afterwards.
Visitors are welcome throughout the week at Tadmarton. More often than not you’ll be welcome on weekend afternoons. It is always advisable to ring the professionals shop (01608 730047) to check first. They do accept county cards if you have one.
Their layout of the course means that they can offer 7, 11 or 18 holes in any combination you like.
Their farmhouse-style food is well proportioned, homely and filling. Ideal after negotiating the gorse and course!
The course is a classic heathland layout with extensive gorse and broom. It’s free-draining sandy soil ensures it is playable throughout the year. Situated on a hill means the wind is always a factor particularly in the winter when the long par fours are a stern test for even the longest hitters.
Practice facilities include a four bay covered driving range, and ample irrigated grass teeing areas. Range balls are dispensed. The short game area has a chipping green with practice bunker and a separate pitching green is playable up to 90 yards. There is a pro shop on site too.
